Robert G. Sewell

2016-12-21

After more than 20 years, Bob Sewell is resigning from his position as editor of The Journal of the Rutgers University Libraries. This will go into effect following the publication of Volume 68, Issue 2.

Bob has done a wonderful job soliciting, editing, and producing insightful scholarly articles about the Libraries and their collections—telling the unique stories of the Libraries’ history and inviting authors and readers to explore our collections in new ways.

For more than a dozen issues, the Journal, its authors, and its readers have all benefited immeasurably from his discerning editorial eye. Assuming the role of editor in 1995, Bob published an issue of the Journal devoted to the theme of Consumerism, Labor Unions, and the Pursuit of the American Dream. This ambitious publishing program continued through 2016 with back to back issues featuring a four-part article on Henry Rutgers to celebrate Rutgers 250th anniversary.

Please join us in thanking Bob for his excellent stewardship of the Journal. We hope to announce a new editorial team in the near future.
